Business Development Manager

FLSA Status: EXEMPT

Schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00a to 5:00p) extended hours may be required to support business needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute sales strategies while leveraging technical expertise in diverse metalworking applications.
  • Discover new clientele that could benefit from the offerings of the company.
  • Uncover additional sales opportunities with current clients.
  • Formulate strategic marketing initiatives that highlight technical capabilities aimed at specific markets.
  • Devise strategies to provide products or services that effectively meet customer demands while aligning with company goals.
  • Achieve sales objectives and manage sales projects efficiently.
  • Build and sustain customer relationships by addressing requirements, resolving complaints, and crafting solutions.
  • Compile reports and present findings to the Executive Management Team.
  • Exhibit consistent and reliable attendance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated technical sales experience in steel or aluminum fabrication.
  • Established connections within automotive-component manufacturing, defense, heavy agriculture, truck, and trailer sectors.
  • Experience with Tier 1 and OEM in contract evaluation and program oversight.
  • Strong analytical abilities and a solid grasp of financial reporting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and self-management.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret data and work with numerical information.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 50% of the time.
  • Possession of a valid, active Passport is required.

Work Environment:

Operates in an office and plant setting. Engages in communication via telephone with vendors, customers, and Plant Management.

Confidentiality:

Must uphold confidentiality when collaborating with the Executive and Plant Management Team.
