Job Title: Engineering Manager

Reports to: Business Unit Leader at specific Business Unit

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00am- 5:00pm).

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leader with strong Soft Skills.
  2. Has great organization, time management, and high attention to detail and ability to instill this into the team.
  3. Great understanding of the PPAP/APQP/ECN process with Automotive experience.
  4. Ability to manage multiple engineers doing new product launch and continuous improvement projects (program managers & process engineers).
  5. Direct project team priorities and manage critical issue escalations.
  6. Ability to train & teach team on project management & management tool(s) (Monday.com/Microsoft projects/etc..).
  7. Lead external and internal communications with cross functional teams.
  8. Will be expected to make strategic and operational decisions through the scope of Engineering.
  9. Coordinate and effectively run meetings to resolve issues related to manufacturing equipment design and installation.
  10. Effectively integrate project launches with production team to ensure proper buy-in and understanding/training.
  11. Support the Sales team on feasibility of new awards.
  12. Lead teams in addressing/supporting complex Root Cause Corrective Action investigations.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

  1. Must have holistic knowledge of the product, production processes, and manufacturing technologies to understand and mitigate risks, as well as to recognize optimization opportunities.
  1. Must have the ability to hold engineering team to project deadline.
  2. Must be able to understand and manage finances, budgets, & timelines around engineering projects.
  3. General understanding of DFM. Specifically, the ability to provide cost effective solutions to customer product(s) while maintaining the integrity of the design.

Physical environment/working conditions:

The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.

Must be able to work as part of a team.
