Responsibilities and Qualifications

As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN), your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments and regular evaluations.
  • Performing triage assessments swiftly in emergency situations.
  • Identifying and reporting any signs of neglect or abuse.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Administering medications accurately and documenting all actions.
  • Providing education to patients and their families regarding health management.
  • Monitoring patient progress and documenting outcomes effectively.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution or current enrollment in a Master's program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a Compact License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification is preferred.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is preferred.
