Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED), you will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for assigned patients. Your duties will include:
- Assessing patients upon admission to the emergency center and providing comprehensive nursing care.
- Performing and documenting patient assessments.
- Identifying and documenting patient and family educational needs and making appropriate referrals.
- Reporting changes in patient conditions to supervisors and physicians.
- Administering and documenting medications.
- Providing detailed inter-shift reports.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required within specified timeframes.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification required within 24 months of hire.
