Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Trauma Care Registered Nurse (RN), you will be accountable for conducting assessments, formulating a care plan, and implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients. You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to refine and achieve care plans, continually monitoring the patient's physical condition, emotional, and social needs.

  • You will perform patient assessments and reassessments regularly.
  • You will conduct triage assessments with rapid data collection related to medical and traumatic emergencies.
  • You will assess injury causation and ensure that neglect or abuse is reported to the appropriate agency for intervention.
  • You will develop a care plan with interdisciplinary team members, including expected outcomes for each assigned patient.
  • You will accurately verify, document, and administer medication.
  • You will provide health education to patients and families along with appropriate documentation.
  • You will evaluate the patient's progress towards achieving outcomes and document the effectiveness of interventions.

Job Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Trauma Care Registered Nurse (RN).

Education:
Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program AND/OR current enrollment in an Alternate Entry Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program or higher level of education.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per healthcare policy.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) OR Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification per healthcare policy required within 6 months of hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification – preferred.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification – preferred.
