Job Overview
Systems engineering is a multidisciplinary engineering field that emphasizes a comprehensive approach, mindset, and methodology.

This role encompasses all activities that address both the business and technical requirements of clients, aiming to deliver a high-quality product that fulfills user expectations.

The discipline involves a thorough process of design, development, and enhancement of systems, which includes identifying and quantifying system requirements, generating alternative system design concepts, conducting design trade studies, selecting and implementing optimal designs, and ensuring that the design is effectively integrated and executed.

This process spans from concept through production to operational use.

Impact and Autonomy
The position significantly influences the team's capacity to meet service, quality, and timeliness objectives. The role operates within established policy guidelines, allowing for moderate autonomy. High levels of operational judgment are essential to achieve the desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee component, module, and system-level design initiatives.
  • Manage product and system requirements, specifications, and their dissemination.
  • Lead validation and verification efforts for the overall product/system, including system-level testing.
  • Facilitate collaboration between design, systems, and execution teams. Define product requirements (both internal and external), outline components and subsystems that constitute the overall architecture, and develop a forward-looking strategy for platform and technology advancement to maintain product competitiveness.
  • Cultivate specialized knowledge within the discipline and serve as a resource for best practices and quality assurance. Stay informed about the latest technical advancements in the field and contribute to strategy and policy formulation, ensuring effective delivery within the area of responsibility.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of best practices and understand how the area integrates with others; maintain awareness of competitive dynamics and differentiators in the market.
  • Utilize judgment to address moderately complex tasks or challenges in operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Approach existing solutions from new perspectives and leverage technical expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  • Act as a mentor for less experienced colleagues and may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource demands. Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively and work towards building consensus.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 6 years of experience in mechanical design or systems integration.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the Aerospace sector or a related industry.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in gearbox and lubrication system development.
Desired Characteristics
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with aviation engine design or certification standards.
  • 10 years of experience in the design and development of turbomachinery.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, with the capacity to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to lead programs/projects.
  • Competence in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.
  • Established project management expertise.
  • A commitment to mentorship and professional development.
  • Experience working with global cross-functional teams, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively in both team settings and independently.
  • A demonstrated process-oriented approach to work.
