Job Overview:
We are seeking a Medical Office Coordinator for a contract assignment with one of our premier healthcare clients in Oakland, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides secretarial and clerical support to a department
- Main contact between hospital personnel, employees, vendors, managers, and administration
- Responsible for preparing clinic charts, reviewing and processing incoming referrals, and greeting families
- Schedules appointments, verifies insurance eligibility, and maintains knowledge of contracted payers and revenue sources
- Processes patient billing, receives and posts payments, and assists families with form completion
- Supports phone queue, maintains schedules, and develops professional education and skills
- Participates in conferences and departmental meetings and arranges interpreter services as needed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 2 years experience in Physician, Medical office, or Hospital setting.
- Personal computer knowledge and skill preferably with Microsoft Office
- Minimum typing speed of 55 wpm
- Able to be an effective problem solver through active problem identifications and collaboration with other staff, physicians, providers, insurers, other staff, managers from other departments, and Hospital Administration.
- Able to resolve conflicts in a pro-active manner that demonstrates a high level of customer service.
