Position Overview

The Project Coordination Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing projects from initiation to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Facilitating engineering assessments
  • Managing requests for change orders
  • Collaborating with engineers on various situations
  • Coordinating with estimating teams on project details
  • Handling submittals and information requests
  • Engaging with clients and owners regarding specifications and technical inquiries during the planning phase
  • Overseeing projects in the planning phase
  • Collaborating with clients or owners on project planning
  • Updating regional managers on project statuses
  • Creating subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Monitoring job costs and forecasting monthly revenue
  • Ensuring quality assurance and quality control on projects
  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving contract disputes with the client
  • Maintaining the primary contract with the client
  • Establishing monthly billing procedures with the client
  • Implementing and maintaining job cost control, reported monthly
  • Reviewing general conditions costs monthly
  • Assessing subcontractor payment applications based on completion percentages and approving or adjusting as necessary
  • Authorizing payments for materials and subcontractor invoices
  • Issuing change orders to subcontractors
  • Initiating and processing all monthly progress payments to the client

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry, demonstrating knowledge of construction methods, estimating, and project management.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Commitment to health and safety principles, adhering to company safety standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, technical documents, contracts, and regulations
  • Strong writing skills for reports, business correspondence, and project documentation
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information and addressing inquiries from project managers, clients, and the public
  • Competence in presenting information to senior management and boards
  • Mathematical skills for calculating figures such as discounts, interest, and proportions; applying basic algebra and geometry concepts
