The Energy Division

Our Energy Group at CEI specializes in managing projects that span from the field to the grid. Whether dealing with solar installations, battery storage systems, substations, EV charging stations, microgrids, or converter stations, our adept project managers, engineers, and field personnel ensure timely and effective delivery. We engage with clients on projects of varying scales, from smaller sites to extensive developments, while prioritizing environmentally responsible practices.

Role Overview

As a Construction Project Leader at Cupertino Electric, you will oversee the daily operations of construction initiatives and lead a high-performing team. Your responsibilities will include planning, executing, and monitoring the financial aspects of your projects, adhering to our core values of people, safety, integrity, innovation, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage projects and teams from initial qualification through estimation, pre-construction, mobilization, execution, and project closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with all project and contractual obligations, maintaining safety and professionalism within budgetary and timeline constraints.
  • Develop project execution strategies and coordinate scheduling for each initiative, collaborating closely with the Superintendent and field teams to meet deadlines.
  • Identify potential project risks and challenges, formulating and implementing recovery plans as necessary.
  • Oversee project financials, including invoice approvals, budget tracking, and financial performance reporting.
  • Negotiate change orders effectively.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients and end-users, fostering strong relationships with customers and subcontractors while seeking new opportunities.
  • Build and mentor a high-performance team, providing guidance and training to promote employee growth and development.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and management capabilities, with a proven track record of driving positive project outcomes. You should have comprehensive knowledge of estimating, project cost management, scheduling, procurement, and productivity tracking necessary for the successful completion of electrical construction projects. Experience with unionized workforces and labor agreements is essential. Additionally, a history of effective team leadership and a passion for employee development are critical.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable. A High School Diploma or GED is required, while a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in electrical construction or related fields in a leadership capacity managing multi-million-dollar projects is necessary.

Driving Requirements

A valid state-issued driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required.
