Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff to join our team at the Department of Defense. The successful candidate will serve as the lead representative for the Deputy Director, People, Finance & Management, and will be responsible for providing strategic advice and support to the Deputy Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the goals and objectives of the Deputy Director, People, Finance & Management.
  • Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and management to a team of staff members, and ensure that they have the necessary resources and support to carry out their duties.
  • Communication and Liaison: Serve as a liaison between the Deputy Director, People, Finance & Management and other stakeholders, including senior officials and external partners.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the goals and objectives of the Deputy Director, People, Finance & Management.
  • Program Management: Manage and oversee programs and projects to ensure that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a senior executive or management role, preferably in a government or defense organization.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans and policies.
  • Communication and Liaison: Excellent communication and liaison skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior officials and external partners.
  • Program Management: Strong program management skills, with the ability to manage and oversee programs and projects to ensure that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a high level of autonomy and independence. The candidate will be required to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, and will be expected to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
