The Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) is in search of a dynamic leader who is passionate about animal welfare and adept at fostering community relationships. This individual will prioritize inclusivity, listening to various perspectives, and motivating team members and supporters alike. The incoming CEO will have the chance to build upon AWLA's rich legacy, implementing innovative strategies to expand its impact and donor engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership
  • Work closely with the Board to establish a clear vision and direction for organizational growth and program development.
  • Assist in Board recruitment and enhance engagement efforts.
Fundraising Initiatives
  • Partner with the Board and development team to attract new donors and maintain existing relationships, enhancing financial stability through innovative fundraising strategies.
  • Lead capital campaign efforts, collaborating with stakeholders to achieve financial goals.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace through effective policy implementation and training initiatives.
  • Ensure transparent communication regarding organizational decisions affecting staff and operations.
  • Uphold professional standards, fostering staff development aligned with AWLA's mission.
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee AWLA's financial health and strategic planning to ensure responsible resource allocation.
  • Assess program effectiveness and community needs to inform short-term objectives and initiatives.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and operational efficiency through best practices.
  • Standardize organizational processes to enhance effectiveness and consistency.
Public Relations and Community Engagement
  • Serve as AWLA's representative, advocating for its mission and goals to a broad audience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Extensive executive leadership experience with a proven track record in organizational growth.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, including donor engagement and capital campaign leadership.
