Position Status: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8am to 5pm

Salary: Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience

Duration: Funding anticipated to continue

Job Summary: The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking applications for a Chief Executive Officer for Research Initiatives to collaborate closely with the Founding Senior Executive Director of the Institute of Biomanufacturing and Precision Medicine for North Texas. This role is pivotal in enhancing research and training capabilities in biomanufacturing, promoting collaborative research in precision medicine, and developing entrepreneurial ventures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Senior Executive Director, offering guidance on strategic and operational matters.
  • Assist in prioritizing requests and issues to optimize time management in alignment with institutional goals.
  • Coordinate and facilitate significant initiatives and projects, working alongside stakeholders across the university and external partners.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, donors, and community leaders.
  • Support the Senior Executive Director in planning and implementing strategic initiatives to advance research priorities.
  • Provide exceptional leadership in administrative functions, including budgeting, finance, human resources, and operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the institute and other university units to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Collaborate on the development of experiential training programs for academic and professional development.
  • Conduct research and prepare briefings and presentations on topics of interest to the Senior Executive Director.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of experience in a senior advisory role to an executive.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Experience in higher education and research administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or Doctor of Juris Prudence degree.
  • Proven track record of increased responsibilities and success in project management.
  • Experience collaborating with senior university leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students at various academic levels.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of university administration operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in personnel management.
  • Knowledge of developing service agreements with external entities.
