Position Overview:

The Assistant Facility Security Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing sensitive elements of security protocols within the Department of Defense (DoD) or industrial security frameworks. This position is essential for ensuring adherence to both governmental and organizational security regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate critical aspects of security programs, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct sensitive security briefings and training sessions for personnel.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management and external agencies regarding security matters.
  • Facilitate all security education initiatives to enhance awareness and compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in managing security requirements for sensitive programs, particularly within the DoD context.
  • Familiarity with DoD security systems and databases, including DISS.
  • Understanding of Title 32 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD).
  • Possession of a Top Secret clearance.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various tasks as required.
  • Exceptional judgment, decision-making, and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Completion of the DCSA or CDSE Facility Security Officer (FSO) Program Management for Possessing Facilities Course.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Top Secret clearance is mandatory.

The salary for this position is influenced by various factors, including location, education, experience, and specific organizational requirements. The anticipated compensation range for this role is between $54,000.00 and $123,000.00 annually.
