Position Overview:

The Assistant Facility Security Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing sensitive elements of security programs within the Department of Defense (DoD) and related sectors. This position is responsible for ensuring adherence to both governmental and organizational security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and facilitate security briefings of a sensitive nature.
  • Coordinate and implement security education initiatives for personnel.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for upper management and external agencies regarding security matters.
  • Ensure compliance with established security policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in managing security protocols for sensitive programs, particularly within the DoD.
  • Familiarity with DoD security systems and databases, including DISS.
  • Understanding of Title 32 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD).
  • Possession of a Top Secret security clearance.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various responsibilities as required.
  • Excellent judgment, decision-making, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Completion of DCSA or CDSE Facility Security Officer (FSO) Program Management for Possessing Facilities Course.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Top Secret clearance is mandatory.
