Responsibilities:


The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing educational programs for clinical staff across one or more units, utilizing evidence-based practices and adhering to adult learning principles. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing educational needs through feedback from frontline staff, quality metrics, safety data, and regulatory updates.
  • Designing and delivering educational content based on best practices, tailored to the audience's needs and the nature of the material.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of educational initiatives and making necessary adjustments based on participant feedback.
  • Facilitating the onboarding and orientation process for new team members.
  • Providing timely educational support to staff as required, including direct assistance during patient care.
  • Acting as a 'superuser' for medical equipment and supplies, offering training to staff on new technologies.
  • Conducting ongoing competency assessments and participating in various committees focused on education, evidence-based practices, and policy development.
  • Maintaining up-to-date educational records for team members and coordinating cross-training opportunities.
  • Supporting regulatory compliance efforts, including readiness activities and policy formulation.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to evidence-based clinical decision-making and maintaining regular attendance as per defined schedules.

Qualifications:


Applicants must possess a degree from an accredited nursing program and have a minimum of five years of clinical experience, or a bachelor's degree in nursing with at least two years of experience. A current Alabama RN license or a Multi-State RN License in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama is required.

Note:
USA Health adheres to the NLC requirements and guidelines applicable in Alabama.

A master's degree is preferred, and experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is essential.
