Key Responsibilities:


• Receives and processes verbal and written directives from physicians, responding appropriately.
• Conducts initial patient assessments, including vital signs, height, and weight measurements.
• Reviews and evaluates patient charts for accuracy and completeness, documenting findings in the Electronic Medical Record system.
• Prepares examination areas for patient visits and assists in positioning patients as necessary.
• Transports specimens to the laboratory and performs routine laboratory tests.
• Aids patients using wheelchairs or stretchers, providing necessary support.
• Executes procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs) and collects blood samples for testing.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked.
• Provides assistance to front desk personnel, including patient check-in and updating demographic information in the computerized system.
• Prepares patient charts, manages phone communications, and directs calls appropriately.
• Maintains medical records and other documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Engages with physicians, patients, families, and healthcare teams using effective communication skills, both in person and via telephone.
• Responds to overhead announcements and notifies the Charge Nurse when leaving the unit.
• Ensures accurate record-keeping, including vital signs and equipment maintenance logs.
• Completes all assigned duties with a positive attitude and collaborates with team members to enhance unit performance.
• Adheres to all mandatory training and hospital requirements, utilizing cost-effective practices in all job functions.
• Complies with current Infection Control and Safety Standards, demonstrating the ability to provide competent care across various patient demographics, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Regularly checks and maintains medical supplies, ensuring readiness for use and monitoring expiration dates.
• Upholds compliance with all organizational policies and performs responsibilities ethically, in alignment with the organization's values.
• Maintains regular attendance and is available to work as scheduled, including potential overtime as needed.


Required Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent, along with the successful completion of a Medical Assistant or related healthcare training program.
