Job Overview

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Sales Account Executive is a professional who merges technical expertise with sales acumen to effectively market and sell intricate technical products or services. This role is essential in connecting technical knowledge with sales strategies to ensure clients receive optimal solutions tailored to their requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  1. Client Engagement: Engage with both prospective and current clients to ascertain their requirements, address technical inquiries, and deliver appropriate solutions.
  2. Sales Demonstrations: Develop and present persuasive sales demonstrations that emphasize the technical benefits of the products and services offered.
  3. Technical Assistance: Offer both pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance, including product demonstrations and issue resolution.
  4. Relationship Development: Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are addressed and any issues are resolved promptly.
  5. Sales Planning: Collaborate with the sales team to formulate sales strategies and objectives aimed at achieving revenue goals.
  6. Market Analysis: Remain informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes to guide sales strategies.
  7. Quotations and Proposals: Prepare detailed technical proposals and quotations for clients, specifying technical details and pricing information.
  8. Client Education: Instruct clients on the effective use and maintenance of products or services.
  9. Issue Resolution: Tackle technical challenges that arise during the sales process and devise solutions.
  10. Record Keeping: Maintain precise records of client interactions, sales activities, and technical documentation.
  11. Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with product development, engineering, and other departments to relay client feedback and enhance product offerings.
  12. Other responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

Product Expertise: Possess a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of the products or services being sold, including functionality, features, and advantages.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant sales experience is required.

Essential Skills:

Comprehensive knowledge of contract principles and procedures.

Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Strong administrative capabilities.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment including personal computers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical demands include effective speaking, hearing, and vision capabilities, excellent manual dexterity, and the ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.

TRAVEL:

This position requires travel, estimated at 20%-50%.
