Position Description:


The Senior Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of Information Assurance (IA) systems, hardware, and software. This position focuses on leading the evaluation of requirements generation, allocation, and tracking throughout the development cycle to ensure the systems meet security certification standards.

The Senior Systems Engineer will also engage in technology studies and implementation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:


- Identify and resolve issues within existing systems while designing and implementing new systems and enhancing current systems.
- Participate in the analysis, design, and construction of next-generation IT systems.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI.
- Conduct systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of work products in accordance with the Technical Process Area associated with ISO/IEC 15288.
- Analyze technical alternatives for projects and provide preliminary recommendations.
- Independently assess and suggest alternatives for project technical designs.
- Propose suitable engineering standards and processes for projects.
- Assist in evaluations to determine project implementation suitability.
- Contribute to innovative approaches to technical or engineering challenges.
- Understand and apply AWS IAM roles and security policies.

Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a systems engineer on various platforms is preferred.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for system automation.
- Strong technical background focused on IT systems.
- Familiarity with AWS architecture, security, IAM roles, and policies.
- Experience in developing automation in cloud environments using tools like CloudFormation, Ansible, and Packer.
- Capability to develop and deploy DevSecOps solutions in a multi-project, multi-team setting.
- Deliver infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation, Terraform, and/or Packer.
- Knowledge of integrated components such as DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Experience troubleshooting LINUX system networking, storage, and related services.
- Understanding of full lifecycle management techniques including testing, integration, change management, security, and authentication services.

Certification Requirements:


Must possess one of the following DoD approved certifications to meet the category/level IAT-2 (DoD 8570) requirement for this position: Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, or GCED.


Education & Experience:
High School/GED (+12 years of relevant experience). Associate Degree (+10 years of relevant experience). Bachelor's Degree (+6 years of relevant experience). Master's Degree (+4 years of relevant experience), or PhD (+2 years of relevant experience).
