Leidos is actively seeking to recruit a Lead Systems Architect to join our expanding team.

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with a dedicated group of software engineers, Subject Matter Experts, and analysts to execute requirements derivation and refinement.

The ideal candidate should be a proactive self-starter with substantial technical leadership experience and exceptional communication abilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Derive functional, system, and performance specifications
  • Create various systems engineering documents (CONOPs, architecture diagrams, etc.)
  • Develop timelines for features; Conduct backlog grooming
  • Author and review technical documentation
  • Act as team lead
  • Generate various status reports

Clearance Requirement:
Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Basic Qualifications:


A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of comparable scope, type, and complexity is required.

A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.

Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Proven experience leading a team that employs agile scrum methodology for software development.


Additional Skills/Experience:
  • Team Leadership
  • Experience in planning and directing Systems Engineering initiatives
  • Engage in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on comprehensive evaluations of all necessary development and operational considerations
  • Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process (and other Government Certification and Accreditation processes)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Agile experience
  • Proficiency with MS Project and/or Visio

Compensation Range:
The compensation range for this position is between $122,000 and $220,900.


This range serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation.

Factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the position, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, and applicable laws.
