Leidos is actively seeking to enhance its team with a Lead Systems Engineer (SE-3) for an expanding project.

The Lead Systems Engineer will collaborate closely with a team of software developers, Subject Matter Experts, and analysts to derive and refine requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter, possessing substantial technical leadership experience and exceptional communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Derive functional, system, and performance requirements
  • Create various systems engineering artifacts (CONOPs, architecture diagrams, etc.)
  • Develop schedules for features; conduct backlog grooming
  • Author and review documentation
  • Act as team lead
  • Generate various status reports

Clearance Requirement:
Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Basic Qualifications:


A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required.

Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Experience in leading a team that implements agile scrum methodology for software development is essential.


Additional Skills/Experience:
  • Team Leadership
  • Experience in planning and directing Systems Engineering efforts
  • Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on comprehensive evaluations of all necessary development and operational considerations
  • Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process (as well as other Government Certification and Accreditation processes)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Agile experience
  • Proficiency with MS Project and/or Visio

Pay Range:
Pay Range $122,000 - $220,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.

Factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreements, or other legal considerations.
