Position Summary:


The Senior Systems Engineer will engage in Information Assurance (IA) system, hardware, and software design initiatives, emphasizing the leadership in evaluating requirements generation, allocation, and tracking throughout the development lifecycle to ensure compliance for security certification.

The Senior Systems Engineer will also conduct implementation and technology assessments.

Key Responsibilities:


- Identify and resolve issues within existing systems, as well as design and implement new systems and enhance current systems.
- Participate in the analysis, design, and construction of next-generation IT systems.
- Build CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.
- Execute systems engineering tasks and support the creation of work products in the Technical Process Area aligned with ISO/IEC 15288.
- Analyze technical alternatives for projects and provide preliminary recommendations.
- Independently evaluate and suggest alternatives for components of project technical designs.
- Assess and propose suitable engineering standards and processes for projects.
- Assist in evaluations to determine project implementation suitability.
- Contribute to the development of innovative approaches to technical or engineering challenges.
- Understand and apply AWS IAM roles and security policies.

Required Skills:
- Experience as a systems engineer on various platforms is preferred.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for system automation.
- Strong technical background with a focus on IT systems.
- Familiarity with AWS architecture, security, IAM roles, and policies.
- Experience in developing automation solutions in a cloud environment using tools like CloudFormation, Ansible, and Packer.
- Proven track record in deploying DevSecOps capabilities within a multi-project, multi-team environment.
- Deliver infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation, Terraform, and/or Packer.
- Knowledge of integrated components such as DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Experience troubleshooting LINUX system networking, storage, and related services.
- Understanding of full lifecycle management techniques including testing, integration, change management, security, and authentication services.

Qualifications:


Must possess one of the following DoD approved certifications to meet the category/level IAT-2 (DoD 8570) requirement for this position: Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, or GCED.


Education & Experience:
High School/GED (+12) years of relevant experience. AD (+10) years of relevant experience. BA/BD (+6) years of relevant experience. Master's degree (+4) years of relevant experience, or PHD (+2) years of relevant experience.
