Position Overview
The Appeals Division is a critical component of our organization, focusing on the management and resolution of appeals. This role is situated within the Office of Appeals Shared Administrative Support.
Key Responsibilities
As an Administrative Support Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating existing office protocols and guidelines to ensure alignment with established policies, providing clarity, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborating with Area Directors to understand their perspectives on various administrative challenges, without requiring extensive technical knowledge of Appeals matters.
- Monitoring and analyzing trends impacting administrative functions, proposing new or revised procedures to address potential issues.
- Assisting in operational assessments and special initiatives led by Directors, including gathering data, conducting research, and preparing comprehensive reports.
- Creating and maintaining efficient systems for file management, ensuring easy access to both electronic and paper records, and overseeing the lifecycle of documents.
- Handling sensitive and confidential information, preparing critical documents, and generating regular and on-demand reports in accordance with established formats.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of citizenship.
- Successful completion of a background investigation, including a criminal history check.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in federal service, involving office administrative support, data analysis, and effective communication.
- Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with minimal errors.
Education Requirements
For positions requiring educational qualifications, relevant transcripts or documentation must be submitted.
