Role Purpose:
The Grants and Compliance Manager is pivotal in ensuring the organization's success and sustainability by overseeing all facets of grant management. This role is focused on cultivating robust relationships with key funding partners, spearheading development communications, and coordinating the submission of essential proposals and reports. The Manager also collaborates with various departments to ensure that grant activities align with the organization's objectives and leads special initiatives that further the overall mission and culture of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Oversight:
    • Oversee all dimensions of incoming and outgoing grants, ensuring adherence to funder stipulations and organizational policies.
    • Coordinate with the finance team regarding the allocation of funds to grantees, ensuring prompt and precise disbursements.
    • Assess and monitor grant performance, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders.
  • Contract Oversight:
    • Lead the grants and contracts process.
    • Draft, manage, and monitor the complete cycle of agreements to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
    • Maintain accurate records of subgrant and contracting activities in relevant systems and tools.
    • Collaborate closely with Finance to coordinate payment disbursements and report any instances of non-compliance with contractual obligations.
    • Propose policies related to subgrants or contracts to support the organization's overarching goals and compliance with legal standards.
    • Review strategies and institutional protocols for addressing complex grant or contract management challenges.
    • Serve as a point of contact for contractors and subgrantees, providing policy and procedural guidance as necessary.
  • Compliance Management:
    • Prepare and submit necessary regulatory documentation.
    • Assist the General Counsel in ensuring compliance with REFORM policies and standards.
    • Engage with various external regulatory entities.
    • Create and maintain a comprehensive records and documentation database.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
    • Work with other departments to gather information and provide updates on grant-related activities.
    • Collaborate with finance and program teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective program implementation.
  • Cultural Contribution:
    • Enhance the organization's culture and success by fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Actively engage in organizational initiatives and support colleagues as needed.
  • Special Initiatives:
    • Lead the coordination of special projects.
    • Manage additional special projects as assigned by the General Counsel, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant management, fundraising, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing and managing funder relationships.
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience with special projects and initiatives is advantageous.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex grant requirements, budgets, and financial reports.
  • High attention to detail in managing grants, proposals, and reporting obligations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to convey information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive in identifying challenges and developing innovative solutions.
  • Robust project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Zoom Grants and Salesforce.
  • Experience in Grant Writing.

Compensation: Salary Range: $85,000-$105,000
