Position Overview

The Grants Administrative Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the administrative and financial aspects of pre- and post-award sponsored research activities. This position is essential for managing routine sponsored projects, including federal and foundation grants as well as industrial contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates operational and programmatic support for various research and educational initiatives.
  • Assists with grant-related transactions, including the review and approval of expenditures and account reconciliations.
  • Revises and suggests modifications to administrative documents and program guidelines.
  • Coordinates the submission and administration of research grant and contract proposals.
  • May contribute to the development and execution of budgeting processes related to projects.
  • May supervise support personnel and assign tasks accordingly.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards for the programs.
  • Handles procurement activities for necessary goods and services, as well as reimbursement processes.
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment, placing orders as authorized.
  • Organizes calendars, schedules meetings, and prioritizes requests for appointments.
  • May assist faculty in identifying new funding opportunities.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of research grants is highly desirable.
  • Approximately 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within the medical research sector.
