Position Overview

The Chief Executive Officer will oversee the operational framework of the Asian American Arts Alliance, focusing on fiscal management, revenue enhancement, audience engagement, and overall administration.

In a collaborative leadership structure with the Artistic Director, the CEO will work closely with all divisions to foster a culture of openness, trust, and excellence.

As a prominent representative for the organization and the arts sector, the CEO will actively engage with the community, listening to stakeholders while building and nurturing partnerships with patrons, businesses, civic leaders, and other key players.

In partnership with the Artistic Director and Board, the CEO will envision and implement a strategic direction for the organization, ensuring its growth, relevance, and sustainability in a changing cultural environment.

A strong advocate for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA), the CEO will ensure that all operational and artistic decisions align with the organization's mission and values.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Oversight and Revenue Development
  • Formulate and execute comprehensive financial strategies to secure the organization's sustainability and growth, aligning them with overarching goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to monitor financial performance through budget creation and management, optimizing revenue, controlling costs, and overseeing financial processes for informed decision-making.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to the Board, conducting forecasts and analyses to enhance revenue generation and audience engagement.
  • Strengthen fundraising initiatives by cultivating relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporate sponsors, and government entities.
  • Lead efforts to identify and secure major gifts in partnership with the Chief Development Officer and Board.
  • Boost earned revenue through innovative ticketing strategies while ensuring a positive audience experience.
  • Undertake additional financial leadership and revenue generation tasks as required.
Strategic Leadership and Community Engagement
  • Collaborate with the Artistic Director to implement the artistic vision and financial sustainability through a long-term strategic plan aligned with the organization's mission.
  • Identify industry trends and opportunities to inform strategic decisions and envision a future that serves diverse communities.
  • Act as a public spokesperson, raising awareness and support for the organization while fostering collaborations with local partners.
  • Build strategic alliances with other arts organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and civic groups to enhance the organization's impact.
  • Promote IDEA initiatives to create an inclusive environment for all stakeholders.
  • Engage in additional strategic leadership responsibilities as needed.
Organizational Excellence and Operational Leadership
  • Establish a robust human resources framework to foster a sense of belonging among employees and audiences.
  • Inspire and guide staff, ensuring the recruitment and retention of top talent.
  • Oversee technology infrastructure to ensure reliability and security.
  • Manage properties and contracts to protect the organization's interests.
  • Ensure a high-quality experience for visiting company members through comprehensive support services.
  • Develop emergency preparedness plans to address environmental risks.
  • Facilitate transparent communication with the Board for effective governance and strategic oversight.
  • Assume additional operational leadership duties as necessary.
