From pediatric to geriatric care, Estes Park Health provides a comprehensive range of services for our patients, residents, and visitors throughout the Estes Park Valley and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Each year, over 18,000 patients and visitors benefit from our outpatient and inpatient services.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner based on assigned shifts, including salad bar items, catering, and special dietary needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain daily logs for refrigerator and freezer temperatures, as well as meal temperature records.
- Regularly check communication boards and emails for updates and changes.
- Access and review the list of hospital patients with specific dietary orders, noting any changes.
- Utilize spreadsheets for diet and portion control specifications.
- Perform dishwashing and sanitizing duties as required.

- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, including refrigerators, ovens, mixers, and other appliances, as well as maintaining the overall kitchen environment.

- Assist with the assembly and delivery of patient/resident meal trays.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service for residents, adhering to the established meal schedule.
- Comply with health department regulations regarding food handling, personal hygiene, and attire.
- Support fellow staff in cleaning and resetting dining areas after meals as needed.
- Provide training and orientation to new dietary aides upon request.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives as needed.
- Attend a minimum of 75% of departmental meetings and complete all required training.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing solutions, or as directed by management.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

- Capable of performing basic math calculations at a high school level and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training in food service or three years of experience in a food service role, preferably in an institutional setting.

COMPENSATION:
$22.58 per hour

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:


PRN Differential of $2.50/hr. We offer benefits for PRN employees, including retirement plans tailored to your needs. All employees (Full Time, Part Time, PRN, Seasonal) are enrolled in our Money Purchase Pension Plan, 401a, which serves as an alternative to social security contributions.
