Situated approximately 90 miles northwest of Denver, at an elevation of 7,522 feet, Estes Park Health is nestled in the stunning Rocky Mountains.

We emphasize a healthy work-life balance, allowing our staff to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Colorado.

From pediatric to geriatric care, Estes Park Health provides a comprehensive range of services for our patients, residents, and visitors throughout the Estes Park Valley and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Currently, over 18,000 patients and visitors benefit from our healthcare services, both outpatient and inpatient.

SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing menu items for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (based on assigned shift), salad bar, catering events, or special dietary needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Document daily temperatures of refrigerators and freezers, as well as meal temperature logs.
Review communication boards, catering boards, and emails for updates and modifications.
Access and verify the list of hospital patients with specific dietary orders from the computer system. Note the number of patients in communication logs. Check unit diet cards for any dietary changes or consistency adjustments.
Utilize an extended spreadsheet for dietary and portion control specifications.
Perform dishwashing and sanitizing tasks as required.

Maintain, clean, and sanitize kitchen equipment (including refrigerators, freezers, ovens, steamers, mixers, can openers, ranges, salamanders, hood panels, steam kettles, plate warmers, and steam tables), as well as shelving, floors, walls, fixtures, and ceilings.

Assist fellow staff with the assembly and delivery of patient/resident meal trays.
Support colleagues in providing timely meal service to residents, adhering to the meal schedule.
Ensure compliance with County and State Health Department regulations regarding food handling, personal hygiene, and attire.
Assist with cleaning and clearing dining room tables after breakfast, lunch, and dinner as needed.
Provide on-the-job training and orientation to new dietary aide staff upon request.
Engage in departmental Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities as requested.
Attend a minimum of 75% of departmental in-service/staff meetings and complete all mandatory training as assigned.
Follow manufacturer instructions when preparing cleaning and sanitizing solutions, or as directed by the Director.
Perform other duties as necessary for effective job performance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.

Must be capable of performing fractional and non-metric mathematical calculations at a high school level. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational training in food service or three (3) years of experience in food service, preferably in an institutional setting.

PAY RANGE:
$22.58 per hour

BENEFITS:


PRN Differential of $2.50/hr. We offer benefits for PRN employees. Retirement plans tailored to your needs - all employees (Full Time, Part Time, PRN, Seasonal) are enrolled in our Money Purchase Pension Plan, 401a, which replaces social security contributions.
