SUMMARY:

The Clinical Nutrition Specialist plays a vital role in delivering tailored medical nutrition therapies to both inpatients and outpatients. This position is integral to the nutrition department and will involve collaboration to enhance service offerings that cater to the needs of the Estes community. The specialist will also work closely with food service teams to ensure compliance with nutritional standards and will engage with various departments to elevate patient care quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Delivers personalized medical nutrition therapies based on patient needs.
  • Utilizes counseling techniques and educational materials to encourage positive dietary changes.
  • Evaluates patients' nutritional requirements and formulates individualized care strategies.
  • Tracks patient data to assess nutritional needs and the success of interventions.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Contributes to committees as needed.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new service lines.
  • Completes quality improvement projects as assigned.
  • Collaborates within the department and across the organization to meet quality and safety objectives.
  • Provides training and support to food service staff to ensure adherence to dietary guidelines.
  • Assists in meal planning and may help manage inventory and procurement.
  • Ensures compliance with nutritional orders and principles.
  • Maintains accurate documentation using electronic health records.
  • Conducts tray audits and other quality assurance tasks as required.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support organizational needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with precision.
  • Demonstrates responsible use of organizational resources.
  • Understanding of counseling methodologies and behavior modification techniques.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition and/or Dietetics.
  • Completion of an accredited internship through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Successful completion of the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) examination.
PAY RANGE:

$35.50
