We provide comprehensive care across all age groups, serving the entire Estes Park Valley and the surrounding areas. Our healthcare teams cater to over 18,000 patients, offering both outpatient and inpatient services.

Position Overview:

The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including salad bar items and special meals for new parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and record temperatures of refrigerators and freezers, along with meal temperature logs.
  • Review communication boards and emails for updates and changes.
  • Access and verify patient diet orders from the computer system, noting any changes.
  • Utilize spreadsheets for diet and portion control specifications.
  • Perform dishwashing and sanitizing tasks as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas.
  • Assist in assembling and delivering patient meal trays.
  • Ensure timely service of meals to residents according to the meal schedule.
  • Adhere to health department guidelines regarding food handling and personal hygiene.
  • Support cleaning and bussing of dining tables post-meals as needed.
  • Provide training and orientation to new dietary staff when requested.
  • Engage in departmental quality improvement activities as needed.
  • Attend departmental meetings and complete mandatory training as required.
  • Follow manufacturer instructions for cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational training in food service or three years of relevant experience, preferably in an institutional setting.
