Our facility provides comprehensive care across all age groups, serving the residents and visitors of Estes Park Valley and the adjacent national park. Our healthcare teams cater to over 18,000 patients annually, offering both outpatient and inpatient services.

Position Summary:

The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing meals for various shifts, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as special catering events and meals for new parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and record temperatures of refrigerators and freezers, along with meal temperature logs.
  • Review communication boards and emails for updates and changes.
  • Access and verify patient diet orders from the computer system, noting any changes.
  • Utilize spreadsheets for dietary and portion control specifications.
  • Perform dishwashing and sanitation duties as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, including ovens, mixers, and other appliances.
  • Assist in assembling and delivering patient meal trays.
  • Ensure timely service of meals to residents according to the established schedule.
  • Adhere to health department guidelines regarding food safety and personal hygiene.
  • Support cleaning and bussing of dining areas post-meals as needed.
  • Provide training and orientation to new dietary staff when requested.
  • Engage in departmental quality improvement activities as necessary.
  • Attend a majority of departmental meetings and complete mandatory training.
  • Follow manufacturer instructions for cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational training in food service or three years of relevant experience, preferably in an institutional setting.
