Job Overview

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Technology Officer is responsible for steering the initiatives and fostering the advancement of the Engineering Services division. In this role, you will oversee technology evaluations, establish a service framework to enhance revenue, pinpoint and execute cost-saving measures, define service offerings, cultivate client and strategic vendor partnerships, manage the financial performance of the Services department, lead a team of engineers and technicians, and promote organizational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the strategic planning process, ensuring that essential components of the Engineering Services department's plans are in harmony with other departments and relevant external strategic vendor partners.
  • Act as a virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) for designated clients, while developing and mentoring additional staff in the vCIO capacity as demand dictates.
  • Identify and analyze service quality and efficiency metrics, initiating proactive measures to enhance service delivery standards.
  • Monitor operational statistics related to service delivery, reporting trends, discrepancies, and issues, and taking necessary actions.
  • Formulate and implement policies and procedures aimed at delivering exceptional managed services and superior customer experiences.
  • Ensure that service delivery aligns with best practices in managed services, implementing suitable controls and performance monitoring metrics.
  • Deploy technologies sanctioned by ownership.
  • Research and identify lucrative technologies and solutions for current and prospective clients, ensuring that Sales and Marketing teams receive the necessary support and training to effectively engage with prospects and customers.
  • Build strategic relationships with enterprise clients, positioning the company's services and capabilities to enhance market share.
  • Assess training and OEM certification needs, collaborating with the CEO to select individuals for training, attending necessary training sessions, and providing training as required.
  • Communicate the scope of the company's comprehensive solution expertise to vendors to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Motivate and inspire employees to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and operational standards among employees.
  • Foster loyalty with the assigned customer base through regular account interactions and discussions.
  • Collaborate with clients and the company team to ensure that services and service levels meet business requirements.
  • Review the current client onboarding process, developing and implementing corrective actions to better serve new clients.
  • Support the sales team in acquiring new customers by demonstrating the depth and breadth of the company's skills and capabilities to meet client needs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing an MSP organization.
  • Demonstrated success in motivating a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Strong technical knowledge is essential.
  • Proficient in project management.
  • Exceptional client and vendor relationship management skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a vision and the capacity to effect change in practices and culture.
  • Comfortable in a "working manager" role, willing to assist clients and colleagues as needed.

Education

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant technical and management experience is required.
