Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tax support and utilizing SurePrep software to assist our tax practice. This role requires a solid understanding of tax documents and SurePrep/OCR technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the SurePrep/OCR software implementation and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Train and work with the tax team on their role in the SurePrep process.
  • Review completed SurePrep uploads for accuracy.
  • Manage the workflows through the SurePrep process.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries related to missing documents relative to prior years.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to SurePrep support in the tax preparation process.
  • Train and mentor interns on the effective use of OCR technology and best practices for uploading and matching data in tax documents.
Requirements
  • Experience in tax support and using SurePrep Software or other OCR technology.
  • At least 2 years of CPA firm or tax office experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with tax return software - Ultratax or similar.
  • Understanding of tax documents and their place in the tax return.
  • Familiarity with Thomson Reuters systems (Onvio, AdvanceFlow) is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (editing pdf documents).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA Firm experience providing support for tax, audit, or accounting departments.
  • Knowledge of tax, accounting, and financial terminology.
  • Associate or bachelor's Degree.
Work Environment
  • On-site in a professional office setting.
  • Standard hours 9:00am-5:00pm.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours (evenings/weekends), as needed.
  • Competitive hourly compensation - negotiable based upon experience.
