Role Overview
  • Position: Director of Corporate Communications
  • Overview: The President's Office is in search of a skilled leader to implement effective corporate communication strategies. You will be based in Bellevue, Washington, and your responsibilities will include:

    1) Enhancing Employee Engagement: Cultivate a vibrant community and a sense of belonging among employees across global offices.

    2) Strengthening Corporate Brand Image: Articulate our mission, values, and initiatives both internally and externally to enhance TPCi's reputation as a purpose-driven organization.

    3) Crisis Communication Management: Collaborate with the crisis management team to safeguard TPCi's corporate image for all audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities are divided into three main areas:

1) Leadership in Internal Corporate Communications
  • Advocate for Employee Experience: Gain insights into TPCi's brand, culture, and employee perceptions to craft impactful communications that enhance the employee experience.
  • Strategist for Internal Communications: Lead the corporate communications function to promote the company vision and objectives in alignment with core values.
  • Architect of Global Communication: Implement best practices to develop and optimize communication channels for maximum effectiveness.
  • Team Leader and Mentor: Build a high-performing corporate communications team, ensuring the delivery of impactful communications and quality visual assets.
  • Champion of Operational Efficiency: Drive improvements in operational communication and ensure timely stakeholder information dissemination.
  • Data-Driven Decision Maker: Utilize metrics to assess the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives.
  • Collaboration with The Pokémon Company, Japan: Work with the PR team in Japan to ensure consistent messaging.
2) Leadership in External Communications
  • Advocacy for the Company: Oversee all external communication channels to ensure consistency with company leadership and TPCi's mission.
  • Employer Branding and Storytelling: Create and implement strategies to highlight TPCi's history, achievements, and commitment to social responsibility.
3) Leadership in Crisis Communications
  • Protecting TPCi's Reputation: Work with the crisis management team and key stakeholders during critical events to manage public perception.

Within the first few months:
  • Comprehensive Understanding: Develop a thorough understanding of TPCi and the Pokémon business through discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Alignment with Stakeholders: Establish strong relationships across the organization to define communication goals.

  • Process Enhancements: Identify and implement improvements to streamline communication processes.
  • Crisis Preparedness: Develop a robust crisis communication system.
  • By the end of the year:
  • Building a Future-Ready Team: Design and develop the Corporate Communications Team for scalable impact.
  • Data-Driven Strategies: Implement metrics to track progress towards communication goals.
Qualifications
  • Experienced Communications Leader: 12+ years in leading corporate communications strategies in a multinational organization.
  • Global Leadership Experience: 5+ years of leading teams across diverse locations.
  • Executive Communication Skills: Strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Global Audience Awareness: Ability to adapt communication styles for diverse cultures.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Proficient in communication measurement principles.
  • Transformation Advocate: Experience in driving change within the communications function.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with best practices in consumer goods and communications.
  • Storytelling Skills: Ability to create compelling narratives.
  • Creative Mindset: Innovative approaches to communication.
