About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional support to our employees and management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • HR Support: Serve as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Employee Onboarding: Manage the new hire process, including coordination of first day details, orientation, and other employee experience activities.
  • HR Administration: Maintain HR personnel files, manage business card and name tag ordering, and create and maintain employee and payroll data in the HRIS system.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist with recruitment efforts, including career fair sign-ups, attendee scheduling, and attendance.
  • HR Initiatives: Assist with the creation and maintenance of HR initiatives, such as employee recognition programs and professional development opportunities.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations.
  • General Support: Provide general HR support to the HR team, management, and employees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Professional Presence: Strong professional presence and ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams.
  • Initiative: Must take initiative and be a proactive change agent.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Matrix Management: Ability to work well in a matrix management structure.
  • Employment Laws: Working knowledge or desire to learn employment laws and regulations.
  • Cultural Awareness: Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Services Experience: Experience in professional services, such as architectural, engineering, or construction firms, is preferred.
  • HR Certifications: SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certifications are preferred.
