Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Event Assistant to join our team at the City of Grapevine, TX. As an Event Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of events at the Grapevine Convention & Palace Arts Event Centers and other Convention and Visitors Bureau venues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to attendees, clients, and colleagues, ensuring a memorable experience for all.
  • Event Support: Assist Event Coordinators and clients as needed, ensuring seamless event execution.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Clean and maintain event facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for attendees.
  • Administrative Support: Answer phones, receive monies, and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Audio Visual Support: Operate various audio visual equipment, ensuring smooth event execution.
  • Concession Stand Operations: Work concession stand, accepting monies and providing excellent customer service.
  • Usher and Box Office Operations: Perform duties of an usher, directing guests to their assigned seats, and sell tickets to live shows or movie tickets from the box office window.
  • Event Monitoring: Work and monitor events at different locations, solo or with a team, ensuring event success.
  • Related Duties: Perform related duties as directed, ensuring the success of events and the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Requirements
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral communication skills and ability to demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use iPad and perform basic math functions.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 45 lbs. and work inside and outside in all kinds of weather.
  • Education and Experience: Knowledge of audio visual equipment and food and beverage experience preferred. Hotel and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Must have or be able to obtain a food handler's certification within 30 days of hire date or promotion and maintain during employment.
  • Background Check: Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and credit check.
  • Physical Assessment: Must pass a pre-employment basic physical, drug screen, and a functional assessment screening (Level 1).
