POSITION SUMMARY

The Events Coordination Specialist is responsible for engaging with group coordinators and hosts prior to events, ensuring all arrangements meet expectations. This role involves reviewing and interpreting banquet event orders to gather essential guest information, determining appropriate setups, timelines, and specific guest requirements, including buffets and action stations. The specialist will also respond to and fulfill any unique banquet event requests, following up to ensure compliance with all arrangements.

Adherence to company policies regarding safety and security is paramount. The specialist will report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management and complete necessary safety training and certifications. Maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information is essential, as is protecting company assets. The role requires welcoming and acknowledging all guests in accordance with company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and expressing genuine appreciation.

Effective communication is key; the specialist must converse with others using clear and professional language and answer telephones with appropriate etiquette. Building and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues is crucial for achieving common goals. The specialist will ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards, visually verify information in various formats, and inspect tools and equipment for defects.

This position requires physical stamina, including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. The specialist must navigate narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and traverse sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, including stairs and service ramps. Bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping are also required as part of the role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience.

Supervisory Experience: Not required.

Licenses or Certifications: None required.
