Faith Formation Coordinator Assistant

The Assistant Coordinator of Faith Formation plays a vital role in supporting the mission of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth.
The Department of Catechesis and Evangelization Assistant Coordinator provides essential clerical and logistical assistance for the Coordinator of Adult Catechesis and Evangelization as well as the Director of Children's Catechesis.
Within the Department, responsibilities encompass various areas such as Elementary and Spanish Catechesis, RCIA, Sacrament Preparation, and Adult Evangelization and Catechesis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clerical Support: Handle general clerical tasks like copying, filing, and data input.
- Reporting: Directly report to the Director of Evangelization and Catechesis.
- Communication: Manage bulletin and website updates for the Director of Communications.
- Student Management: Organize student rosters and attendance records.
- Sacrament Preparation: Assist with sacrament preparation programs.
- Discernment Interviews: Coordinate Sacrament Preparation Discernment Interviews.
- Catechesis Registration: Support yearly catechesis registration.
- Enquiries: Respond to inquiries regarding department policies and plans.
- Record Management: Maintain up-to-date records on program participants and volunteers.
- Parish Activities: Participate in parish staff activities including meetings and educational events.
- R.C.I.A. Management: Oversee records management for R.C.I.A.
- R.C.I.A. Events: Offer assistance for R.C.I.A. events like Rites into the Church and the Easter Vigil.
- Expense Reports: Prepare expense reports for the Catechesis department.
Supervision and Contacts:
- Supervision: Supervise volunteers and support volunteer recruitment.
- Reporting: Report to the Pastor or Director of Formation.
Internal and External Contacts:
- Internal: Pastor, Formation department, Administrative staff
- External: Adult Volunteers, Parishioners
Working Conditions and Requirements:
- Work Environment: Work in different settings like parish hall, classrooms, gym, and office environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer work.
- Flexibility: Occasional evening and weekend work.
- Boundary Management: Maintain clear boundaries between work and personal life.
- Lifting: Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel: No travel needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Personal Qualities: Devoted follower of Jesus Christ and the Roman Catholic Church.
- Education: High School diploma required, college education preferred.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, including time management and delegation.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact effectively with parents and children of all age groups.
- Parish Safe Environment: Completion of the Parish Safe Environment process.
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
