Human Resources Specialist

As a vital member of our HR team, the Human Resources Specialist will report directly to the HR Supervisor and play a key role in managing daily HR operations. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, ensuring effective support for both employees and the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and vendor inquiries, providing timely and courteous responses across a wide range of HR topics.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including documentation and orientation sessions.
- Oversee the annual performance evaluation process, managing scheduling, tracking, and documentation related to performance reviews and pay adjustments.
- Facilitate off-boarding procedures, including exit interviews and necessary documentation.
- Administer the safety program, handling injury notifications and Workers' Compensation claims.
- Collaborate with the HR Supervisor on various initiatives, including job description development and salary structure design.
- Manage unemployment claims and related administrative tasks.
- Maintain accurate employment records for current and former employees, both in paper and electronic formats.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and assist in interpreting these policies for employees.
- Develop and maintain key metrics for monthly reporting, including turnover rates, employee counts, and salary planning.
- Complete compliance reporting accurately and on time, including EEO-1 reports and various audits.
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, along with 2 to 5 years of experience in a generalist HR role, particularly in performance management and employee relations.
- Experience with benefits administration, payroll, and recruitment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with employment laws and regulations, particularly in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, is required, with a willingness to learn about other states.
- HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) is a plus.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems is essential.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, are necessary, along with the ability to navigate web-based programs.
