Overview:


The Human Resources Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering support across various HR functions, which may encompass recruitment, employee relations, business collaboration, benefits administration, program management, and training initiatives.

This position involves performing administrative tasks related to the human resources domain and maintaining associated records; it also supports the execution of policies, HR programs, and procedures aimed at enhancing HR effectiveness.


Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities

Depending on the specific location of the HR Specialist, duties may include some or all of the following:


Provides specialized support for the assigned client group, including employee relations; coaching, performance and talent management; employee programs; and training and development.


Addresses employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees (both direct and temporary), and supervisors, directing complex and/or sensitive issues to the appropriate HR team member.

Offers talent acquisition assistance to the designated department or location.

Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring process for qualified candidates for open roles; collaborates with department managers to identify necessary skills and competencies for positions.

Oversees the hiring process for temporary staff.

Collaborates with Hiring Managers to create competitive offers that align with internal equity standards.


Leads college recruitment efforts, including establishing partnerships with key universities and colleges, participating in campus events, and organizing onsite visits.


Enhances the organization's positive reputation in the marketplace by fostering and managing strong relationships with candidates, external contacts, and vendors.

Supports the onboarding and orientation processes for new employees, including managing the HRIS system, conducting background checks, and verifying employee eligibility. Designs and/or delivers new hire orientation programs. Responsible for overseeing new hire orientation initiatives.

Actively engages in the development, preparation, and execution of employee activities, HR programs, and company events.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with employees and organizational leadership.

Assists in the formulation of departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

Manages immigration and/or relocation processes as required.


Oversees Leaves of Absence and workers' compensation for local employees; assists with benefits administration as needed, including 401k, COBRA, open enrollment, and changes.

Contributes to the development and delivery of virtual and in-person HR training sessions for employees and managers. May provide assistance to other locations as necessary.


Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Compiles HR metrics for business and talent acquisition as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.

A minimum of three (3) years of progressive HR experience is preferred; experience in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment is advantageous.

Demonstrated understanding of general HR principles and practices, as well as employment-related laws and regulations, is desired.

Familiarity with HRIS and ATS systems is preferred.

Previous experience in developing and implementing training programs is preferred.

Strong proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of MS Office is required.


Management may consider relevant work experience in lieu of a degree and/or make exceptions to the years of experience requirement.
