Position Overview:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of nursing care and patient services. This role encompasses both clinical and administrative leadership, guiding the development, execution, and assessment of nursing services. The Director will employ Process Excellence methodologies to foster collaboration with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engages with leadership teams to participate in hospital-wide decision-making, including the formulation and review of the organization’s mission, strategic objectives, budgetary allocations, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Creates and updates departmental policies and procedures that align with federal and state regulations, ensuring compliance and best practices in service delivery.
  • Designs and assesses programs aimed at enhancing the recruitment, retention, and professional development of nursing staff and patient care providers.
  • Acts as the local Nurse Executive, coordinating closely with affiliated organizations to oversee nursing care delivery and establish care standards, policies, and staffing plans.
  • Maintains and enhances the quality standards of nursing practice across the facility.
  • Researches and evaluates new nursing practices, techniques, and technologies through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Participates actively in nursing affinity groups and patient care teams, promoting the exchange of best practices and system-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • Current licensure or proof of application for licensure as a registered nurse.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is required or must be obtained within five years.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience, including two years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in clinical and administrative nursing roles.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven work ethic and commitment to professional excellence.
  • Advanced clinical nursing and administrative competencies.
