Position Overview

As a seasoned and results-oriented Sales Branch Manager, you will oversee and enhance all sales initiatives within your designated TruGreen branch. Your leadership will be crucial in recruiting and mentoring a high-performing sales team aimed at boosting sales volume, maximizing profitability, and maintaining the TruGreen Commitment. This role entails crafting strategic plans to broaden our customer base in the local market.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy Development: Formulate detailed sales strategies and forecasts at the branch level. Ensure strict oversight of sales results to meet objectives within financial limits.

Marketing Implementation: Collaborate on the execution of diverse marketing initiatives, including door-to-door outreach, direct mail campaigns, and both internal and external marketing efforts to foster profit growth and expand TruGreen's offerings. Provide insightful local market feedback to the TruGreen Marketing team.

Lead Generation: Create lists of prospective clients to stimulate sales opportunities. Leverage information from various sources such as direct mail, advertisements, community events, trade shows, and business seminars. Assist in closing sales as necessary.

Customer Engagement: Address customer concerns related to sales and service. Analyze and manage cancellation requests to proactively retain clientele.

Training and Development: Organize and deliver ongoing training for sales staff, focusing on customer service excellence, effective sales techniques, and compliance with safety protocols.

Operational Management: Establish and supervise work procedures, create schedules, and streamline workflow to enhance efficiency. Monitor and report on the sales performance of each team member regularly.

Performance Metrics: Develop, implement, and uphold performance standards and corrective measures to ensure the achievement of approved sales plans and objectives.

Staffing and Human Resources: Lead the recruitment and selection process for sales representatives. Assess staff performance, recommend salary adjustments, and enforce disciplinary actions in line with company policies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years of relevant experience in the lawn or horticulture sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated sales experience.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in sales analytics and CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel within the market area.
  • Compliance with necessary certifications, licenses, and registrations as mandated by law.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of the organization, its products, and services.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics.
  • Proven leadership ability to motivate sales teams.
  • Competence in performing calculations related to discounts, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to draft reports and business correspondence effectively.
  • Capability to identify customer issues, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret various forms of instructions.
  • Other essential skills include attention to detail, organizational skills, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
