Position Overview

As a seasoned and results-oriented Branch Sales Manager, you will spearhead and optimize all sales initiatives within your designated TruGreen branch. The successful candidate will be instrumental in recruiting and mentoring a high-performing sales team, driving sales growth, maximizing profitability, and upholding the TruGreen Commitment. This role entails formulating strategic plans to broaden our customer reach within the local market.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy Development: Formulate detailed sales strategies and forecasts at the branch level. Maintain strict oversight of sales results to ensure the achievement of sales targets within budgetary limits.

Marketing Program Implementation: Collaborate on the execution of diverse marketing initiatives, including door-to-door outreach, direct mail campaigns, and both inside and outside marketing efforts, to stimulate profit growth and expand TruGreen's service offerings. Provide valuable insights and customer feedback to the TruGreen Marketing team.

Lead Generation: Create lists of prospective clients to generate sales leads. Leverage information from direct mail efforts, advertisements, community events, trade shows, and business seminars. Additionally, assist in closing sales as needed.

Customer Satisfaction Management: Address customer concerns related to sales and service. Analyze and manage cancellation requests to proactively retain clientele.

Training and Development: Organize and conduct continuous training for sales staff, emphasizing customer service excellence, effective sales techniques, and compliance with safety protocols.

Workflow Oversight: Establish and manage work procedures, develop work schedules, and facilitate workflow to enhance efficiency. Monitor and report on the sales performance of each team member on an hourly, daily, and weekly basis.

Performance Management: Create, implement, and uphold performance standards and metrics to ensure the successful realization of approved sales plans and objectives.

Staffing and Human Resources Management: Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and staffing processes for peak sales representatives. Assess staff performance, provide compensation recommendations, and enforce disciplinary measures in line with company policies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years of relevant experience in the lawn or horticulture agronomy sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven track record in sales.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
• Proficiency in sales analytics and CRM software.
• Willingness to travel within the market area.
• Required certifications, licenses, and registrations as mandated by federal and state regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of the organization, its products, and services.
• Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate sales teams.
• Competence in calculating financial figures such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.
• Ability to produce reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals; effectively present information to various audiences.
• Capability to identify customer issues, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficiency in interpreting a variety of instructions in different formats.
• Other essential skills include attention to detail, organizational abilities, adaptability, and flexibility.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
