Position Overview

As a seasoned and results-oriented Branch Sales Manager, you will spearhead and enhance all sales initiatives within your designated TruGreen branch. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in recruiting and mentoring a high-performing sales team to boost sales volume, optimize profits, and uphold the TruGreen Commitment. This role entails formulating strategic plans to broaden our customer base within the local market area.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy Development: Formulate detailed sales strategies and forecasts at the branch level. Maintain strict oversight of sales results to ensure the achievement of sales targets within financial parameters.

Marketing Program Implementation: Collaborate in executing various marketing initiatives, including door-to-door, direct mail, and both inside and outside marketing efforts, to drive profit growth and expand TruGreen's service offerings. Provide valuable insights and customer feedback to the TruGreen Marketing team.

Lead Generation: Create lists of potential clients to generate sales leads. Utilize data from direct mail campaigns, advertisements, community events, trade shows, and business seminars. Additionally, assist in closing sales as necessary.

Customer Satisfaction Management: Address customer concerns related to sales and service. Analyze and manage new sale cancellation requests to proactively retain clients.

Training and Development: Organize and conduct ongoing training sessions for sales personnel, focusing on customer service excellence, effective sales techniques, and adherence to safety protocols.

Workflow Oversight: Establish and manage work procedures, develop work schedules, and facilitate workflow to enhance efficiency. Monitor and report on the sales performance of each team member on an hourly, daily, and weekly basis.

Performance Management: Develop, implement, and maintain performance metrics and corrective strategies to ensure the realization of approved plans and objectives within the sales organization.

Staffing and Human Resources Management: Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and staffing of peak sales representatives. Evaluate staff performance, provide salary recommendations, and enforce disciplinary actions in line with company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years of relevant experience in the lawn or horticulture agronomic field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in sales analytics and CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel within the market area.
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations as required by applicable laws.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of the organization, products, and services.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics.
  • Proven leadership ability to drive sales teams.
  • Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Capability to write reports and business correspondence effectively.
  • Ability to define customer issues, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret various forms of instructions.
  • Other required skills include attention to detail, organizational skills, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
