Position Summary

Strategic Leadership:

Lead the strategic direction and planning for the Centralized Operations division, ensuring alignment with Arch Capital's overarching operational strategy.

Enhance the efficiency of Central Operations by standardizing core underwriting processes, focusing on functional expertise, optimization, and quality assurance.

Collaborate with Strategic Operations Management, Process Excellence, and other relevant teams to implement solutions that enhance efficiency, prioritize customer satisfaction, and boost underwriter productivity.

Operational Execution:

Establish clear objectives and action plans to ensure operational standards are met in accordance with Arch Capital's business strategy.

Identify and implement opportunities to streamline underwriting processes, reduce turnaround times, and improve overall operational efficiency.

Develop Standard Work in collaboration with Operations Leadership and promote the adoption of lean methodologies across the Central Operations team.

Leverage automation and advanced technology tools to enhance data management, process optimization, and employee engagement.

Analyze performance metrics and key objectives across the Central Operations division to drive operational excellence.

Manage the Central Operations budget, optimizing costs and effectively allocating resources.

Explore labor arbitrage and sourcing opportunities in conjunction with the Underwriting Services Operations to minimize the Total Cost of Service.

Ensure that operational practices adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards.

Talent Development:

Oversee multiple teams led by Managers and Supervisors.

Foster diverse teams across various functions, including Submission Intake, Compliance Operations, and Workers Compensation Operations.

Identify and cultivate skill sets within teams to enhance both transactional and complex service delivery.

Capability Enhancement:

Develop operational capabilities to elevate the performance of Central Operations.

Candidate Requirements:

Individual:

Proven experience in Central Operations or Shared Services with a track record of progressive leadership roles.

Exceptional analytical and leadership skills, with a history of managing diverse, high-performing teams.

A service-oriented mindset with a commitment to fostering positive engagement for both internal and external stakeholders.

Strong team management capabilities and excellent leadership skills that promote a collaborative and results-driven environment.

A continuous improvement mindset with familiarity in Lean principles to recommend impactful enhancements to processes and services.

Ability to implement technology solutions across various functions effectively.

Team Collaboration:

Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with senior management, clients, and team members.

Broad management knowledge to lead multiple product lines effectively.

Dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and promptly addressing client needs.

Adaptability to new technologies and methodologies to optimize processes.

Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Strong analytical capabilities.

Proficiency in teamwork, interpersonal communication, technical organization, problem-solving, and service skills.

A self-starter with demonstrated flexibility, accountability, and adaptability.

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Familiarity with Arch systems and general technology.

Education:

A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.

A minimum of 12 years of experience in an Insurance Operations role is required.
