Position Overview:
The University of Minnesota Foundation (UMF) is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee and provide strategic direction for its Central Philanthropy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership of Central Philanthropy Programs (35%):
Collaborate closely with senior leadership to establish a visionary and strategic framework for a premier regional philanthropy program. Ensure that the program has defined objectives, measurable outcomes, and ambitious annual goals that benefit the entire university community. - Regional Philanthropy:
Position the regional team as essential advisors in engaging alumni across key national markets. Lead fundraising planning and the execution of various philanthropic projects and initiatives. - Annual Giving Leadership:
Work in partnership with the Director of Annual Giving to provide strategic oversight and support for the program's core objectives. Set clear, measurable goals that align with the mission of the program and foster synergies with regional teams to enhance major gift development.
Portfolio Management (50%):
Actively manage a diverse portfolio of regional and international donors capable of making significant contributions. Engage with top-tier donor prospects, fostering trust and collaboration among stakeholders.
Senior Development Leadership (10%):
Offer strategic counsel to senior leadership on development initiatives and emerging opportunities. Mentor development officers on best practices in donor engagement and fundraising.
Additional Duties (5%):
Lead program initiatives during transitions and explore innovative opportunities for professional development within the team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree with extensive experience in major gift solicitation or related fields.
- Proven track record in leading development teams and successful fundraising activities.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
