Overview

As a key member of the Human Resources team, you will oversee the daily operations of the department, which includes:

  • Welcoming both internal and external visitors to the Human Resources office.
  • Administering employee benefits programs, including conducting enrollments and addressing inquiries.
  • Providing assistance to associates with their requests and concerns in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the recruitment, screening, and interviewing processes for various hotel positions.
  • Assisting the Human Resources Director or Manager in guiding management staff on effective recruitment and interviewing techniques.
  • Coordinating interview schedules and managing related documentation.
  • Updating Human Resources bulletin boards and other communication channels as necessary.
  • Distributing paychecks and maintaining accurate department and employee records.
  • Explaining various benefits to associates and assisting with enrollment and claims processing.
  • Facilitating associate recognition events and programs.
  • Processing benefits enrollments electronically as required.
  • Monitoring and updating job requisitions and communicating job openings internally and externally.
  • Coordinating pre-selection activities, including drug testing and reference checks, to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Managing transfer requests and responding to interviewed applicants promptly.
  • Assisting in achieving the goals outlined in the hotel’s Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Administering wages and benefits to ensure fair application, utilizing reports and systems.
  • Preparing correspondence and maintaining applicant flow logs.
  • Ensuring all new hires and current associates have proper employment eligibility verifications.
  • Adhering to attendance policies and being available for regular work hours.
  • Performing any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing, safety programs, labor relations, and business planning.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities.
  • Excellent written communication skills for clear and concise correspondence.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
