Position Overview:
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a vital role in the daily functions of the Human Resources department. This includes welcoming both internal and external visitors, managing employee benefits programs, conducting enrollments, and resolving inquiries and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to associates with their requests and inquiries, ensuring timely responses to their concerns.
  • Support the recruitment process by screening and interviewing candidates for various hotel positions, collaborating with the HR Director or Manager to implement effective hiring strategies.
  • Maintain and update Human Resources bulletin boards and other communication channels as necessary.
  • Distribute paychecks and maintain accurate records of department and employee files.
  • Explain benefits options to associates and assist with enrollment and claims processing.
  • Coordinate employee recognition events and assist with associate relations initiatives.
  • Process benefits enrollments electronically and monitor job requisitions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with pre-selection activities, including drug testing and reference checks.
  • Manage transfer requests and respond to interviewed applicants promptly.
  • Assist in achieving the goals outlined in the hotel’s Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Administer wages and benefits accurately, utilizing reports and data analysis.
  • Prepare necessary correspondence and maintain applicant flow logs.
  • Verify employment eligibility for new hires and existing associates.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for work.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.
  • Understanding of hotel operations, including marketing, safety protocols, and labor relations.
  • Strong leadership abilities to motivate and develop staff effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities.
  • Effective written communication skills for clear and concise correspondence.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
