Overview:
The Human Resources department plays a vital role in the daily operations of our hotel. This includes welcoming guests, managing employee benefits programs, and addressing inquiries and issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to associates with their requests and inquiries, ensuring timely responses.
- Support the recruitment process for both management and non-management positions, collaborating with the HR Director or Manager to implement effective hiring strategies.
- Maintain and update Human Resources bulletin boards and other communication channels.
- Distribute paychecks and manage employee records accurately.
- Explain various benefits to associates and assist with enrollment and claims processing.
- Organize associate recognition events and programs.
- Process benefits enrollments electronically as required.
- Monitor job requisitions and communicate openings internally and externally in accordance with company policy.
- Coordinate pre-selection activities, including drug testing and reference checks, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Manage transfer requests and respond to applicants in a timely manner.
- Assist the HR Director or Manager in achieving objectives outlined in the hotel’s Affirmative Action Plan.
- Oversee the administration of wages and benefits, ensuring equitable application based on reports and data.
- Prepare necessary correspondence and maintain applicant flow logs.
- Ensure all new hires and current associates have valid employment eligibility verifications.
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.
- Understanding of hotel operations, including marketing, safety programs, and labor relations.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop staff.
- Able to prioritize, plan, and delegate effectively.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
