Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator with profound expertise in RedHat and Debian operating systems. The ideal candidate will be adept at integrating Linux systems within a Windows domain environment utilizing automation techniques. This role involves proposing and implementing improvements (both software and hardware) to enhance the performance and reliability of Linux systems within our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of Linux, particularly with RedHat and Debian distributions.
  • Provide advanced Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Linux systems across the organization, including troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
  • Document installation and configuration processes for Linux systems and update existing documentation in Confluence.
  • Develop and maintain Ansible scripts and playbooks for efficient management of Linux images.
  • Oversee the automation and orchestration of Linux operating systems.
  • Maintain local repositories for Rocky and Ubuntu Linux, ensuring systems are updated to comply with security standards.
  • Address and rectify hardware or software failures associated with Linux installations and virtual machines.
  • Coordinate significant IT changes with relevant stakeholders, including management and information security teams.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, along with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree.

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a systems administrator, including a minimum of 2 years focused on Linux.
  • Experience with the traditional IT stack encompassing clients, networking, servers, and storage.
  • Proven ability to manage and support Linux-based operating systems within a Windows domain (Active Directory).
  • Experience in upgrading, installing, and configuring both application software and hardware.
  • Familiarity with orchestration and automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Capability to obtain Security+ or a relevant certification within 180 days of employment.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively without direct supervision.
  • Understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Possession of Security+ or a relevant certification.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000, reflecting the typical compensation based on experience, location, and other relevant factors.
