Position Overview

Spirit of America is in search of a dedicated Human Resources and Office Operations Specialist to enhance our organizational effectiveness by managing office operations and supporting human resources initiatives. This role is pivotal in fostering a productive environment and contributing to our mission of promoting freedom and democracy.

This position demands a proactive individual who can handle a variety of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of our organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this full-time role encompasses comprehensive office management and HR administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, negotiate, and sustain partnerships with office management and technology service providers.
  • Oversee mail collection and distribution, including managing outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain inventory of office and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely ordering and restocking.
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources in recruitment efforts, including resume evaluation and scheduling interviews.
  • Acquire foundational knowledge of payroll systems and provide backup support as needed.
  • Facilitate staff development initiatives and enhance team morale through various programs.
  • Support training and professional development initiatives within the organization.
  • Manage access to the building and parking for team members, including key card and parking space allocation.
  • Welcome and assist on-site consultants and visitors.
  • Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires, including scheduling, workspace setup, and equipment preparation.
  • Actively participate in event planning, including vendor negotiations and logistics management:
    • Identify appropriate venues for conferences.
    • Coordinate catering services.
    • Arrange accommodations for traveling participants.
    • Ensure all participant needs are met during events.
    • Oversee the setup and breakdown of events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with the IT Director to manage in-office technology and meeting room setups.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between $59,000 and $71,000, commensurate with experience. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with a 403b contribution match of up to 4%.
